Infiniti's M series hasn't been updated since the mid 2000's - so needless to say it was time for an upgrade, and Infiniti delivers.
Exterior styling on the new M series has "more aggressive overall proportions." In the rear-drive M37 and all-wheel-drive M37x, the new 3.7-liter V-6 engine, develops more power than the 3.5-liter V-6 that it replaces, while yielding improved fuel economy. The new V-6 generates 330 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
According to Auto Media; New features include power-folding mirrors, front door-handle courtesy lights, and a RearView monitor. Active Noise Control generates sound waves that help reduce low-frequency sounds within the cabin.
A standard Drive Mode Selector offers four modes that adjust throttle sensitivity and transmission shift points for peak performance.
The M56's new 5.6-liter V-8 engine offers 30-percent more power than its predecessor. The V-8 generates 420 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque, driving a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Infiniti advises that in a rear-drive M56 model, the V-8 earns a highway fuel-economy estimate of 25 mpg. The city-driving figure is around 16 mpg.
With all-wheel drive, the M56x dips to 16-mpg city/23-mpg highway. Infiniti's V-6 engine also shows improved gas mileage, now rated at 18-mpg city/26-mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, and 17/24 mpg with all-wheel drive.
