The redesigned Infiniti M37 came off with an Excellent score in Consumer Reports' ratings, as part of a test in the November issue that featured three luxury cars. That's right, M37 remains Consumer Reports' top-rated midsized luxury sedan.
Much like the previous M, this new car delivers a great combination of performance, comfort, and luxury. The test score rated it as luxurious and quick, as well as fuel efficient.
"The Infiniti M37 combines agile handling, a taut yet comfortable ride, and a beautifully-finished interior," said David Champion, senior director of Consumer Reports' Auto Test Center in East Haddam, Connecticut.
The M37 was completely redesigned for 2011. Both the V6 and V8 models are prices very reasonably around $53,000 MSRP.
The Infiniti M37 has strong performance and a smooth, quiet highway ride. M37 is powered by a 330-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine that performs adequately, and gets 21 mpg overall in CR's own fuel economy tests. The seven-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly. Braking was also scored as Excellent by CR.
The updated interior features thickly-padded surfaces on the dashboard and doors, and nice detailed stitching. The trunk is large, but lift-over height was considered a bit high.
